What the verifier actually checks
An accredited CBAM verifier does not just reconcile figures. They check whether the emissions calculation can be reproduced from primary documents: production process specifications, fuel and electricity data, logistics routes. If the calculation is built on assumptions rather than primary data, verification stops at the very first request for evidence.
Most rejections happen not because of mistakes in the maths, but because of a lack of traceability: the figure is in the report, but the document supporting it is missing or not in the format the verifier requires. This is the difference between a calculation and a verified report.
How our verification support works
Data audit
We check which emissions data you and your supplier already have, and exactly where traceability to primary documents is missing.
Closing the gaps
We gather additional documents and calculations where the verifier is most likely to ask questions, before submission rather than after a rejection.
Verification support
We help handle the verifier's requests, prepare the necessary documents and clarifications, and coordinate communication so that the process runs without unnecessary delays.
Verification already scheduled, but data is missing?
Call us: we will review the situation free of charge and tell you honestly whether you can make the deadline.
Frequently asked questions
About preparing CBAM reports for verification by accredited verifiers.
What is an accredited verifier and why can't you do without one?
An accredited verifier independently checks the data and calculations of embedded emissions. If actual values have not passed mandatory verification, they cannot be relied on to meet CBAM obligations, and the company risks corrections, extra costs and problems complying with CBAM requirements.
How long does verification take, and can the process be accelerated?
Verification timelines cannot be determined without assessing the source data. Incomplete calculations, missing documents or a weak evidence base inevitably lead to additional requests, repeated checks and delays. That is why preparation for verification starts long before the review itself.
What if a verifier has already rejected a previous report?
We review the verifier's findings, identify which data or evidence is missing, help close the gaps and prepare an updated package of materials for the next review.
Do you work with one verifier, or can you support work with any of them?
We prepare data in a format accepted by accredited EU verifiers regardless of the specific organisation. We are not tied to any single provider of verification services.
